Italian luxury brand Lamborghini is all set to bring a change within the Research and Development (better known as R & D) department. It has brought in Rouven Mohr as Lamborghini's new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). He was the Head of Verification / Validation Whole Vehicle at AUDI AG in Germany. The changing of the CTO also involves Maurizio Reggiani. For years, a man at the helm of Lamborghini's Technical Department took up Vice President Motorsport's position at the company. MWTV presents this article to help you understand facts about the move to bring in Rouven Mohr and Maurizio Reggiani as CTO and Vice President Motorsport of Lamborghini, respectively.

The responsibilities of Maurizio Reggiani as the new Lamborghini Vice President:

As the newly appointed Vice President of Lamborghini Motorsport Maurizio Reggiani, will be responsible for setting the strategic direction that the entire motorsport division of the brand takes in the future. The decision to bring in Rouven is to prepare the brand for a sustainable future. It is also being done to keep Lamborghini competitive in racing championships. It would mean trying to get Lamborghini to keep accumulating victories at the GT championships.

Past achievements of Maurizio Reggiani as a leader in automobile innovation:

In the 'Motor Valley, Maurizio Reggiani was born and brought up. He then grew up and spent his entire professional life among high-performance engines such as Maserati, where he began his career in 1982. More importantly, in the department dedicated to engine development and design, Maurizio made an impression. From 1987 to 1995, he was with Bugatti and was responsible for developing the EB110 powertrain. Finally, in 1995 Reggiani joined Lamborghini and was the Project Leader of the Murciélago. A role that he was in charge of until 2001. After which, he was transferred to the R&D Powertrain and Suspension Division responsible. It was eventually in 2006 that he was appointed Chief Technical Officer. A role in which he shone by being responsible for most technological and design innovations undertaken by the brand. These included the V12, V10, and V8T models.  \

The essential background of Rouven Mohr, and why Lamborghini has made him CTO:

In 2008, Rouven Mohr joined Audi's R&D department as a testing engineer to check the chassis' durability. In 2014, his responsibility was increased when he was made Head of Project Management Whole Vehicle for the A3, TT, Q7, and Q8 models. Lamborghini came calling for him in 2017, where he was Head of Whole Vehicle Development for two years. During this stint, he was given the responsibility to oversee the development of the Aventador, Huracán, and Urus models. He then returned to Audi and was given the Head of Energy and Weight-Management designation. The Lamborghini family got him back as the Head of Energy and Weight-Management. He now has been made the CTO of the brand mainly to supervise the electrification of the Lamborghini product range.

With Rouven Mohr and Maurizio Reggiani newly recruited to Lamborghini's R & D department, it remains to be seen in which direction these men take the brand in terms of sustainability shortly.
