The Mercedes EQE 500 electric SUV is a testament to the evolution of electric vehicles from niche offerings to mainstream, high-performance, and luxurious options. Priced at Rs 1.39 crore, it sets a new standard for what's possible in the EV market.

The EQE SUV from Mercedes-Benz was recently released in the Indian market. This is exclusively offered in the EQE 500 4Matic variant and costs Rs 1.39 crore (Ex-showroom). Mercedes-Benz's third electric vehicle in India, following the EQB and the EQS, is the top-tier EQE SUV.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV features:

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV shares a similar style to the rest of the Mercedes-EQ family, with smooth curves and a low profile. The headlights are streamlined, and so are the alloys, to maximize aerodynamic performance.

The EQE SUV's interior features the same 56-inch Hyperscreen as the EQS. This has a cutting-edge interior design thanks to the combination of three screens under a single sheet of glass. The seats may be adjusted electronically and provide both massage and ventilation. The SUV also features an invisibility bonnet system, Burmester audio, ambient lighting, and advanced driver assistance features.

The EV's infotainment system is powered by the newest MBUX software. Two motors, one mounted on each wheel, provide the propulsion. Mercedes-Benz claims that the EQE's 90.56 kWh lithium-ion battery pack allows it to travel 765 miles on a single charge.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV power train and range:

Dual motor all-wheel drive and an off-road package are standard on the Mercedes EQE 500 SUV. The SUV features a 90.56kWh battery with a claimed WLTP range of 550km and supports up to 170kW of DC fast charging in addition to the 11kW AC charger that comes standard.

It can supposedly go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.9 seconds because to the engines' 408 horsepower and 858 Newton-meters of torque, and it can reach a top speed of 210 kilometres per hour. The driver can choose between three different regeneration settings using the paddle shifters.

In India, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 SUV competes with the recently announced Audi Q8 e-tron (Rs 1.14–1.26 billion), the BMW iX (Rs 1.21 billion), and the Jaguar I-Pace (Rs 1.20 billion), however it costs more than all three.
