With the 2024 release of the GLC 43 and the 2025 release of the more potent GLC 63 S E Performance, the AMG GLC Coupe enters a new generation. The all-new Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupé skillfully combines speed, efficiency, and style. Mercedes-AMG's motorsport pedigree can be found in every inch of its stunning coupé SUV design.

Both the AMG GLC 43 Coupe from last year and the AMG GLC63 from 2021 and later were powered by noisy turbocharged V-6 and V-8 engines, respectively. As with the most recent AMG C-class cars and AMG GLC-class SUVs, the new generation's beating heart has fewer cylinders and uses four-cylinder powertrains.

True performance is not an afterthought. It’s born of precision. Both coupe SUVs have switched to a turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the previous model's six-cylinder unit; the new unit is 2.0 litres in displacement. Mercedes claims that the GLC 43 coupe is equipped with mild-hybrid technology, produces 416hp and 500Nm of torque, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and has an electronically capped peak speed of 250 km/h.

The GLC 63 S E Performance coupe, on the other hand, is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that can generate 469 horsepower on its own. The electric motors contribute an additional 201 horsepower, bringing the total output to 671 horsepower and 1,019 Nm of torque. The 63 S E Performance coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a remarkable 3.4 seconds and has an electronically regulated top speed of 275 km/h. A purported 12-kilometer electric-only range is also touted for the hybrid system.

Both coupes include all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, and a 9-speed automatic transmission in addition to the engines. Standard features include powerful brakes, speed-sensitive steering, and a suspension with damping that may be adjusted. AMG's Dynamic Select drive mode is standard on both the GLC 63 S E Performance and the GLC 63 S. There are five options available to drivers in the GLC 43, and eight in the 63 S E Performance.

Inside, sporting touches can be found on the AMG seats, which are upholstered in ARTICO synthetic leather and MICROCUT AMG microfiber and feature special designs and coverings. Standard on the GLC 43 and GLC 63 S is a Nappa leather (GLC 43) or Nappa leather/MICROCUT microfiber (GLC 63 S) AMG Performance steering wheel. It has a flat base, perforations in the grip, and aluminum shift paddles with a shiny silver finish. AMG sports pedals, AMG floor mats, and illuminated door sills with AMG insignia all contribute to the car's sporty, high-end ambiance.

There are a number of AMG-specific screens and features built into the MBUX infotainment system. The optional head-up display, the portrait-format multimedia central display in the Centre console, and the screens in the instrument cluster are all separate from one another. The AMG-exclusive "Supersport" design provides a vertical layout for a variety of content. There's a configuration screen where you can see how the chassis or gearbox is currently set up. A navigation map or fuel economy statistics might be presented to the driver in a "Supersport" layout.

Edition 1 at market launch

Mercedes sold the previous generation GLC Coupe in India as the AMG 43, however the AMG GLC coupes have not been confirmed. Which new-gen model or both will be imported to India is unknown. AMG GLE Coupe 53 4Matic is another coupe SUV offered in India by Mercedes.

Apart from India, The GLC 63 S E Performance Coupé can be ordered as an exclusive Edition 1 in the exterior colors graphite gray magno or high-tech silver magno for one year from market launch. Each client receives a unique AMG Indoor Car Cover emblazoned with the "Edition1" logo to keep their investment safe. It shields your car in the garage from dust and scratches with a tear-resistant synthetic fibre fabric outside and a flannel interior that is anti-static.
